Recently, a customer approached us with the need for a lifting arm that could handle up to 85 pounds and an end effector that could lift both square tubes and round shafts. Our engineering team rose to the challenge and developed a custom solution that met the customer’s specific needs.
The PM-RNR with a custom end effector was selected for this application. The gripper, equipped with V-Block fingers, allows the operator to lift both profiles easily and safely into the press brake. The knurled rubber lining on the fingers prevents round shafts from rotating, while the gripper can rotate roughly 270° on the vertical axis, providing more flexibility.
With this lifting solution, press brake injuries can be reduced by keeping the operator’s hands away from the press brake and eliminating strenuous loading and unloading movements.
